The Terror of Richard Clavering

Before Jack the Ripper, London belonged to a different kind of monster. 

It's October 1837 and a towering, razor-thin silhouette begins terrorising the dark alleys of London. They called him a ghost, a monster, a demon. Witnesses swore he had eyes like glowing balls of fire, hands tipped with metallic claws and even reports of spitting blue fire scolding his victims before leaping away over 10ft fences, earning his name. Spring Heeled Jack.

He became a sensation in Victorian Penny Dreadful's and even was mentioned by the Lord Mayor of London Turning this local phenomenon into a nationwide legend. 

Soon rumours spread that this wasn't a ghost at all, but a twisted conspiracy of rich, bored nobility. Twisted alehouse tales and sensationalised news.

 But the threat was very real 

The original adapted artwork is a woodblock print illustration originating from a Victorian "penny dreadful" serial titled Spring-Heeled Jack: The Terror of London. Published in instalments during the late 1860s through the 1870s
